1. यदि  x वस्तुओ का क्र. मु. y  वस्तुओ का विक्र. मु. के बराबर है तो लाभ अथवा हानि % =
   
   
   

      2. यदि दो वस्तुवों में पहली वस्तु का विक्रय मूल्य x % लाभ के कारण  तथा दूसरी वास्तु का विक्रय मूल्य y% हानि के कारण बराबर हो ( या यदि दो वस्तुवों के विक्रय मूल्य x % लाभ एवं y% हानि के कारण बराबर होते हो  ) तो लाभ या हानि % होगा  =
